I began contracting with Woven Pear in early 2018 as a surface pattern designer. I quickly learned how to navigate the world of production design and manufacturing as I was a serial self-starter volunteered as the go-between for the design and over-sees manufacturing. As soon as I became an expert in the nuances and limitations of creating designs for woven fabric socks, I began suggesting delegation of designs. I was able to hire and direct surface pattern designers as well as manage licensing of those designs, while I focused on trend-forecasting for monthly drops, as well as ideating, producing and executing content photoshoots, many involving managing social media collaborations with other small businesses.
