I was contacted by the creative director at mophie shortly after I left my position at Skullcandy to embark on a freelance career. Though they initially wanted to hire me full time, I instead opted for a shorter contract that focused on engaging with an audience they had yet to be able to reach. In my short stint with mophie, I created multiple social media campaigns that seamlessly transitioned from one to another while drawing in the audience within the Gen Z creative world.
mophie LOVES Artists
I led a dynamic 6-week social media campaign focused on highlighting artists from various mediums and how they leveraged mophie to enhance their creative processes. Collaborating closely with a talented graphic designer, copywriter, and our social media manager, we curated a diverse series of posts. This included captivating product photography showcasing mophie's impact, engaging stop-motion gifs, vibrant lifestyle shoots featuring talented dancers of different styles, and intimate at-home interviews with a renowned collage artist who also happened to be a social media influencer. Our multifaceted approach not only showcased the versatility of mophie but also celebrated the artistic community, resonating deeply with our audience and generating significant engagement and interest throughout the campaign.
Back to School
I orchestrated an imaginative 'back to school' themed photoshoot at a sprawling baseball and soccer field in southern Utah, enlisting a team of 5 vibrant models to bring the narrative to life. The concept centered around a group of close-knit friends embarking on a whimsical adventure, 'breaking into' their school the night before classes commenced to infuse positive energy and camaraderie. Leveraging my connections, I secured access to the local high school's theater and stage, setting the scene for an immersive storytelling experience.
Prior to the shoot, I meticulously crafted character sheets for each model, delving into their backgrounds, motivations, and pastimes, and curated their looks using their personal wardrobes based on these personas. The photoshoot unfolded like a scripted story, starting with a lively gathering at the soccer goal where they shared pizza and laughter, followed by moments of bonding and mischief around the baseball commons. The narrative then took a whimsical turn as they engaged in games like spin the bottle and tarot readings in the drama classroom, creating authentic and relatable moments.
As the night progressed, they transitioned to the auditorium stage, where they learned TikTok dances and embraced their playful side. Finally, the evening culminated in a cozy blanket fort in the audience seating, where they engaged in spirited rounds of truth or dare before drifting off to sleep, symbolizing the endearing bond of friendship and youthful spontaneity. This multifaceted photoshoot not only captured the essence of 'back to school' nostalgia but also resonated deeply with our audience, fostering a sense of connection and excitement.
GaN Test Campaign
I spearheaded an innovative social media campaign by assembling a talented team including a photographer, three models, a graphic designer, and a copywriter, all converging on a downtown SLC location. With a turnaround time of less than two weeks, I meticulously styled the models using a blend of their own wardrobe and curated props. The objective was to create visually captivating and fashion-forward content tailored to our audience's preferences. The end result was a collection of astonishing, albeit unconventional, content that not only increased engagement by an impressive 30% but also provided invaluable insights for future endeavors in a similar vein.
